TikTok is "Saved" Now What?
So it isn't banned... for now?
Today is just a blogging day, I guess! Feelings everywhere.
In the wake of TikTok announcing it will be miraculously “saved by Trump,” my app working again after a dramatic curtain call last night (I love how men think women are the emotional, intense, theatrical ones) and allowing me to post a video just seconds ago… I can’t help but feel duped, manipulated and - not to be dramatic - abused.
This feels like a stunt intended to upset everyone, making them vulnerable just so Trump could then swoop in and be painted the hero, leading everyone to be just grateful enough that they might not notice all the other horrors he intends to inflict for this presidency (and so they might forget that he was the one who initiated talks of banning TikTok in the first place.)
I’m not surprised that the government would go to these lengths of course, just endlessly disappointed and horrified every time it does.
So TikTok is back… what now? Same as before. I’ve learned throughout the last 24 hours that I don’t respond well with manipulation so I am not sure what the future will look like for me on TikTok but for now, you can find me elsewhere, reading books, talking shit, screaming into the void and trying to have fun along the way.

Book Club - on the heels of the racist AI bullshit, we cut ties with Fable and have officially relocated to Discord where we share news/updates, chat with each other, choose books, discuss them as we read, etc.
Patreon - I’ve run this space since 2019 and it offers perks and updates for free and paying members alike. There is a back catalog of my artwork too, remnants of a past life :P
Tumblr - I know myself and I know that I will need fan edits, shitposting and a fun, cute way of expressing myself. Tumblr seemed like the obvious choice. Will I use this often? I’m not sure but it is there and it will be fun.
Bluesky - with a similar look and feel to OG Twitter (being made by the same people will have that effect) I plan to use this pretty liberally as a way of connecting with and updating people in the place of platforms like Tiktok/IG/Threads etc.
Podcast - for audio versions of my YT rants, casual bookish chats, recordings of past book club meetings, etc. you can listen to the podcast on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
