Pros: really cool story, characters that I liked
Cons: a little confusing at times because of the writing style and the translation.
This book was pretty fun. It tells the story of a young girl who is murdered and subsequently follows a few of the people closest to her over 20 years of time as they try to make sense of it all and figure out what happened.
It is a short read, you know I love a short read, so I don't want to post too terribly much as far as a review goes. I did like the story, the writing style a.k.a. the jumping back and forth through time and person was kind of hard to follow along with at times. Add to that the fact that it was translated from Korean and I felt like there were a lot of things I just didn’t get on an initial read through.
I plan to read the book again and see if I can piece things together on the second go round. Like I said, it's short so it won't take much time to do this. I am excited to read it again too! I had a few moments while reading it where I thought to myself "hmm... I am pretty sure I read something about this a few chapters ago that was important but I didn't know it at the time so I didn't remember it..." I love when books do that. I felt involved in the story as a result. Highly recommend!
