January Book Club Selections

Happy New Year to all my weirdos! January is my birth month so that means, I call the shots as far as book selections this month. Are you excited? I am. I’ve picked two of the books that had me hooked last year. One, a dark, historical horror and the other, a sweet, intimate (and a tad spicy) epistolary romance.

Between Two Fires by Christopher Buehlman found me last year and just sounded right up my alley. Y’all know I’m not a huge fantasy reader but I am a big horror lover with a soft spot for morbid historical events. This met both of those needs and added in a dash of weird on top of it. It felt like a great book to start 2024 with!

Next, I wanted to go for something very different in case Between Two Fires didn’t appeal to you. I chose Way Down Deep by Charlotte Stein and Cara McKenna, an epistolary novel, a love story told completely through text messages that had me grinning like a lunatic all the way through.
